SIRCAMS "Scottish Instrumentation and Resource Centre for Advanced Mass Spectrometry" is a facility for ultra-high resolution mass spectrometry of biomolecules, based at the University of Edinburgh.
The centre brings together one of the most advanced mass measurement facilities in Europe.

SIRCAMS has the capability to resolve many of the contemporary measurement science problems posed by rapid developments in biomolecular science. In the post-genomic era, the determination of protein structure and molecular interactions is currently the critical area for scientific exploration.

A rapid increase in our knowledge of these processes is essential not only to our understanding of protein function in relation to the disease process, but also for the rational design of therapeutic agents.
